Along the way, enjoy glimpses of the Himalayas as the landscape becomes increasingly rugged and wild.

Today is the highlight of your trek as you ascend to Khopra Danda, perched at an altitude of 3,660 meters. The trail climbs steadily, and the effort is rewarded with jaw-dropping panoramic views of Annapurna South, Dhaulagiri, and Nilgiri. As you reach the ridge, the surrounding peaks feel almost within reach. Sunset at Khopra Ridge is a moment you’ll cherish forever.
Day 4: Trek to Swanta – 4/5 hours trek
After enjoying the incredible views from Khopra Danda, you’ll begin your descent toward Swanta, a picturesque village surrounded by terraced fields. The trail leads you through lush forests and peaceful landscapes, offering a chance to unwind and take in the beauty of rural Nepal. Swanta provides a glimpse into local life and is a perfect spot to rest and recharge.
Day 5: Trek to Ghorepani – 4/5 hours trek
From Swanta, you’ll trek to Ghorepani, a popular stop on the famous Ghorepani Poonhill Trek. The route passes through vibrant rhododendron forests that are particularly stunning in spring. Upon reaching Ghorepani, you’ll prepare for an early morning hike to Poonhill, the trek’s iconic viewpoint.
Day 6: Morning Hike to Poonhill and Trek to Birethanti, Drive to Pokhara - 6/7 hours
The final day begins with an early morning hike to Poonhill (3,210m), one of the best sunrise viewpoints in the Annapurna region trek. As the sun rises, the peaks of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Machhapuchhre glow in golden light - a sight that’s worth every step. Traveller's Review
In November 2024, I had the opportunity to make use of Contour Expeditions to plan a trek to Everest Base Camp. Communication was great with the planning, accommodation, itinerary and trek information before I left. When I arrived I was met by the team in Kathmandu and they really did a great job in looking after me, including a welcome dinner and briefing session. They had everything arranged, including the flights to Lukla and back, as well as a really experienced, English speaking guide and a friendly capable porter. The trek went without a hitch, teahouse accommodation and 3 meals a day were provided. There seem to be hundreds of trekking and expedition companies in Nepal, however, I would be careful to do your research and make sure you choose a experienced company like Contour Expeditions. I will definitely be back to do another trek soon and would have no hesitation to make use of them again. Thank you Contour Expeditions for the fun, memorable experience.
